MUA Undressed TOO Pallete - Hurrah. (Review + Make Up Look)

Hi Guy's,
Hope your all well?
So those of you who know me well will know that I am a tad obsessed with eye products, particularly eye palettes.

If you are someone who reads up on beauty blog's you will have already known about MUA's Dupes for Urban Decays Naked palettes - Undressed & Undressed Too.
I have read several posts on both pallets and instantly wanted them,I adored the idea of them,
Great Price,Great Pigmentation and Great Dupe - GREAT!

Every superdrug (where MUA is stocked) I went into they had every palette but both of these.
I looked online both on the superdrug and MUA websites - SOLD OUT.
So you can imagine my excitement when I found the Undressed Too palette in my local superdrug!
I jumped straight to my laptop to write you lovelies a review and do a quick look / tutorial using the palette.

These are the most gorgeous colours and are so pigmented and long lasting.
I adore the colours Exposed,Obsessed,Lavish and Reveal.

So on the back of the palette MUA give you a recommended look to create which I recreated below...

Load 'Lavish' onto your brush and sweep over your entire lid.
I loved Lavish,In the pan it looked quite dark put on the eyelid looks gorgeous and creates a lovely natural base.

Then take 'Obsessed' and pat across the outer part of the lid blend this out into the eye socket and out.
Just a little warning Obsessed is a gorgeous Brown/Silver metallic shade and is very pigmented so depending on the look you want to achieve I suggest you build the colour up gradually.

Then pick up 'Corrupt' on you brush and blend this into your crease of your eye and your outer corner, blend this out for a smokey eye look, again depending on the look you want to achieve build the colour up.
Also a tip for those of you new to creating a smokey eye,for a more subtle look which doesn't blend out too much I advise you to place some shadow just above your lash line and smudge upwards and out. You are less likely to apply too much 'smokeyness' this way.

I then but a small amount of Corrupt on my bottom lash line and smudged it slightly,
after applying liquid liner and some black gel liner to my eyes.

These three colours together create a quick and simple smokey eye, which you can make more natural or smokier depending on the occasion or how you prefer you eye make up.

I Love this product and can not wait to try MUA's First Undressed Palette.
At £4? Complete Steal.

The Liebster Award..

Hey Guys,
Hope your all okay?
So I was kindly nominated by Greensapphir (Rianna) for a Liebster Award.

I had seen this on other blog's but hadn't really got a clear idea of what they were about untill now.
When You are choosen, the person who nominated you will ask you 11 questions which get people to get to know about you a tad more and then you nominate 11 people for the award and then you ask them a set of your own 11 questions..
It's just a fab way for bloggers to get seen & to know abit more about one another really.
So a liebster award has some rules..

  • You must link back to the person that nominated you.
  • You must answer the 11 Liebster questions given to you by the nominee before you.
  • You must pick 11 bloggers to be nominated for the award with under 200 followers.
  • You must come up with 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
  • You must go to their blogs and notify your nominees

I also enjoy being able to have somewhere to document my recovery and things happening in my life.

I feel like when I need to I can see the positive and realistic sides of things.

Greece Or France. I adore both of these countries they are both so beautiful and love everything about the both of them, more so probably france as I spent alot of time there as a child.
    9.       If you had to choose someone to play ‘you’ in a movie based on your life, who would you pick?

Kristin Wiig - She is beyond hilarious and I would love to see a funny twist but on my rather drama filled life haha.
    10.   What is the nicest thing a stranger has said/done for you?
By Far - My Organ Donor's saving my life !
    11. If you could go back in history and live in another period for one week, when and where would you go?

    The Lullaby Trust.

    Hi Guys,
    Hope your all well?
Today is a slightly different post really.
As most of you know I am currently Miss Birmingham Inspiration 2013 & A Finalist in Miss Inspiration 2014.

I like to get involved with fundraising and like to try and help as much as I can,
In my previous Miss Birmingham Pageant with the help of you all I managed to raise £330 for Variety The Childrens Charity (THANKYOU!)
So I was hoping I could ask you all for some help again..

I'm currently fundraising for The Lullaby Trust.

The Lullaby Trust offer support for families who have been affected by cot death and promote advice for safer sleep for babies.
The Lullaby Trust work with NHS by running a health visitor led service for bereaved parents and the CONI programme (Care of next infant) supporting parents before and after ther birth of their new baby.

What I love about this charity is that not only do they support those who have been affected by these tragic experiences but they also support research to find out why babies die suddenly and unexpecdantly which also means they can try and find how to prevent it from happening.

I remember watching a peice about this amazing trust on itv's this morning last year or so where a family told there story and it really touched my heart so I'm so happy to be supporting this charity alongside the other finallists in the Miss Inspiration 2014 Competition.

So if you wish to help me and donate to this well deserving course please have a look at my JustGiving page where you can donate - and every donation no matter how big or small is extremelly apreciated!

Having a Baby Sister, and a lot of young children in the family I can't imagine the pain cot deaths cause families so I really want to raise as much as we can working together!
Just for a idea here is how your money could help :) -

£1 could buy a room thermometer, to help maintain a safe temperature for babies.
£5 could pay for a bubbalicious information pack, raising awareness of our safe sleep messages among teenage parents.
£14 could provide one hour of helpline support from trained advisors.
£110 could train A&E staff in how best to support families when a baby dies.
£438 could alleviate the anxieties of a bereaved family by providing a breathing monitor for their new baby.
£550 could train bereaved parents who wish to support other families in the future.

Thanks Again for everyone who helped before,
and I hope you can all help again for such a great cause!

Maybelline's Baby Lips - 003 Mint Fresh REVIEW

    Hey Guys,
So today I am going to review Maybelline's New Baby Lip's lip balm.
This product has been really hyped about on the online beauty community so when I finally found it in my local superdrug I decided I had to pick one up!

Sadly I only found the clear balms as they were at the checkout, but as I love mint balms, was attracted straight to,
    003 Mint Fresh.

I absolutely LOVE the packaging, and love the way you access the product,
as I really can't stand digging into lip balm pots,as its just messy and unhygienic.

I totally forgot to take a photo wearing this product so you could see the finish of it,but
I was not all that impressed with it really.
    Maybelline claim that :
"Baby Lips moisturises lips for a full 8 hours.Lips look healthier and feel baby soft."

But I'm afraid I will have to disagree after application this product didn't feel very moisturizing at all.
Although,It did give your lips a glossy looking finish, personally,I like these kind of products but I much prefer when you know they  ARE moisturizing and doing good for your lips also!

I know sometimes, these kind of colourless products strangely are not as effective as the pigmented ones are,and from looking at reviews,I am defiantly curious to try some of the other colours like peach kiss and cherry me.

Overall for £2.99 it wasn't too bad,and I would defiantly like to try the rest of the range and hope they live up to the hype.
And as a bonus they are currently on offer in superdrug  2 for £5 - bargain.

Let me know if you have similar views or have you had a baby lips that is brilliant?
Comment below and let me know.

    MUA Lash Boom,First Thoughts.

    Hey Guy's
So today I Will be reviewing MUA's Lash Boom Mascara.
I was in super drug trying to find MUA's undressed palette which is a dupe of urban decay's naked palette, but of course even in this tinyyyy superdrug store it wasn't there :(
So while I stood in pure disappointment this mascara caught my eye.

The main thing that gained my attention was the brush.
I've seen quite a few mascaras lately and been curious as to see what results they create.

The wand is quite long, except for the end.
The end is in a oval type shape, which claims to create volume in lashes.
Please try not to be too horrified by these extreme close ups (eek) but I wanted to show the effects of the mascara with one application.

Personally I didn't like this brush.
I have pretty long lashes anyway and prefer brushes that claim to curl the lash,as I generally curl the lashes before hand anyway.
The oval at the end of the wand meant the middle of my lash lifted up way to much and just looked odd!
So on first try,I don't like the wand too much and the formula is pretty flaky.
I hope after a few try's i can 'master' the best way to use this wand.

Although this product was only £3, I won't be in too much of a rush to recommend it.
Maybe it would work better on shorter lashes?...
    Sorry MUA!

    My 'Breakout' Skin Care Routine.

    Hey Guy's,
    Hope your all okay?
So me and the other half are now settled into the flat which means - WiFi
That means that I will be back to updating my blog regularly.
(with a lifestyle blog introducing you to the new place coming soon.)

With all the stress of moving from Birmingham to down south has meant I have got major skin problems recently.
I never used to suffer with spots up until my transplant then they graced my face in the same places all the time.
My Chin and In between my eyebrows, and they've started scarring now - grr.

This lead me to browse the internet for hours trying to find a decent skin care routine that would improve my skin for good as I keep finding products then after a while they stop working, boo!

After a while I was lead to a article were Millie Macintosh (star of made in Chelsea) was talking about her favorite beauty products for the summer, when I discovered the brand "Manuka Doctor" which have a range of products which include purified bee venom which are proved to help trouble skin and eliminate blemishes.

PBV (purified bee venom) is a process which purifies the venom making it a concentrated source to use in products which have a cumulative effect, this means the effects of the product build up after each use.

(benefits of PBV taken from www.manukadoctor.co.uk)

After reading such amazing reviews of the products Manuka Doctor supply I decided to buy some from Superdrug.
To my surprise there was also a buy one get one 1/2 price deal on when I purchased them, which you can still access for some of the range here - http://www.superdrug.com/a-z-brands/manuka-doctor/icat/manukadoctor

After deliberation I decided I needed a new daily moisturizer so the first product I choose was the ApiClear facial moisturizing lotion.

    This moisturizer is amazing.
I think I have finally found one that does exactly what it claims to do on the bottle!
Using this twice a day I've noticed a dramatic change, even after first application.
Its made my skin so soft and its glowing once i apply this product,I can't rave about it enough really.
I even use this under my night time moisturizer as I've noticed if i don't my skin looks rough the next day.
    AMAZING

Aswell as the moisturising lotion I also purchased their make up primer, also with the PBV benefits in it.

This product is also just as gorgeous to apply as the lotion, and it has real mattifying effects on the skin,so would be perfect for oily skin but I have pretty dry skin so it has been making my skin a little too matte under my usual make up routine but on the flip side it has defiantly made my make up last in this hotter weather we've been having (can't grumble at that,no-one likes there foundation melting off !)

Now the only problem I find with this product is that due to it being a colored product that having fair skin it somehow makes round my hair line/ears orange in places.
It does blend out nicely on the majority of my face but I do stress about my make up being blended out perfectly so the fact it gathers on my hair line isn't fab.
I have found though on days I'm going for a more contoured and bronze make up look this primer works wonders and gives me a lovely base glow!

So overall its fab, just think my skin isn't suited to it all that well.

The other product which I'm constantly raving about - and on my third repurchase of,is my B.Pure Micellar Water!
And I love to use my simple eye make up remover along side it.

There both so effective and removing makeup - including waterproof makeup (added bonus!)
but are super gentle on skin.
There both under £5 each and work just as well as any high end products.

While at boots,I was browsing through the little travel size products as there are often great things to pop in your handbag when I found this little gem!

This sancuatry spa night concentrate is gorgeous,it smells lovely and is super moisturising yet it isn't too sticky like some night time creams I've found.
I will defiantly be buying this in full size as this has defiantly been improving my skins appearance, and tackling those dry areas.
Also great tip for on spots and blemishes I put on sudocream in the morning and evening on the blemishes as it is a antiseptic cream so will banish redness as heal your spots gradually!

So those are the products ive been using to get healthier - blemish free (ish) skin.
All products work ,so why not give them a try?
What products would you suggest? Leave comments below!

    One Big Transplant Family.

    Hey Guys,
So here I am showing my face on my blog again,
and once again a month since I've last posted anything..
Terrible I know and I've really missed blogging but now i'm settling in a new flat I get internet back in the week...
    So that means.. FREQUENT POSTS!

Aside from that this is just a little post really about the transplant community.
I love twitter, and I think it is one of the best networking sites there is at the minute.
I'm not one of these people that have thousands of followers, I have a comfortable 137 followers and today I want to talk about the few of them who are what I call the transplant family.

After I fall sick I created twitter and I was amazed by the amount of people you find if you hash tag '#transplant'.
So as time past, and I created this blog I started chatting to people who like me had transplants and not just liver transplants, but lung transplants, kidney transplants all sorts!
And in between the few recipient followers I have I also have gained quite a few Pre-Transplant friends, who want to ask about what actually happens, medication etc.
And then there's people who aren't even a transplant recipient but are donors and just like supporting those who have transplants and support organ donation!

Now,I wanted to blog about this just as a little thank you really.
As there hasnt been one person (well maybe one..) who has followed me on the basis of transplant who hasn't been friendly.
Wether it be because we have things in common but it is so so nice to see such a big community of people coming together from all over the globe chatting together and supporting each other.

Sometimes as a transplant patient, especially a multiple organ recipient,I feel that people sometimes forget that I'm still Kate and I have interest's aside from talking about hospital procedures and such, and that goes for any one suffering with a condition/illness.
And before I get people saying "well you write a blog about transplant how does that work?"
Well again my blog is a platform for transplant patients to come together and get advice and know how there feeling is most likely normal.
It's surreal to have people with something so amazing in common, but also no one of us are the same, and I find it so fascinating reading about peoples journeys and there lives.

Of course I have some great friends who supported me through the transplant process,
But this post is for all those new friends I've met along the way, for those who have all supported each other regardless if they've had a transplant, waiting for one or are just a donor.
Sadly I've lost a few dear friend's in the process, but we still supported each other through that.

So,To all my Transplant Family and Our Guardian Angels - Our Donors <3

    xoxo
